例题10:一元二次方程根的分布
Section titled “例题10:一元二次方程根的分布”题目: 若方程 的两个实数根都大于 ,求 的取值范围。
解答:
步骤1:设 ,方程有两个实数根都大于 的条件为:
\Delta \geq 0 \\ -\dfrac{b}{2a} > 1 \\ f(1) > 0 \end{cases}$$ 步骤2:计算各条件: - $\Delta = 4m^2 - 4(m + 2) = 4m^2 - 4m - 8 \geq 0$,即 $m^2 - m - 2 \geq 0$,$(m - 2)(m + 1) \geq 0$,得 $m \leq -1$ 或 $m \geq 2$ - $-\dfrac{2m}{2} > 1$,即 $-m > 1$,得 $m < -1$ - $f(1) = 1 + 2m + m + 2 = 3m + 3 > 0$,得 $m > -1$ 步骤3:取交集:$m < -1$ 且 $m > -1$ 且 ($m \leq -1$ 或 $m \geq 2$) 步骤4:无解。实际上,当 $m = -1$ 时,$f(1) = 0$,不满足 $f(1) > 0$。 **答案:** 不存在满足条件的 $m$ 值 **考试技巧:** 根的分布问题需要同时考虑判别式、对称轴位置和端点函数值,三者缺一不可。 ### 例题11:等差数列与不等式 **题目:** 在等差数列 $\{a_n\}$ 中,$a_1 > 0$,$S_9 = S_{17}$,求使 $S_n$ 最大的 $n$ 值。 **解答:** 步骤1:由 $S_9 = S_{17}$,利用求和公式: $$9a_1 + \frac{9 \times 8}{2}d = 17a_1 + \frac{17 \times 16}{2}d$$ $$9a_1 + 36d = 17a_1 + 136d$$ $$-8a_1 = 100d \implies d = -\frac{2a_1}{25}$$ 步骤2:由 $a_1 > 0$ 且 $d < 0$,数列递减。$S_n$ 最大时 $a_n \geq 0$ 且 $a_{n+1} \leq 0$。 步骤3:$a_n = a_1 + (n-1)d = a_1 - \frac{2a_1}{25}(n-1) = a_1\left(1 - \frac{2(n-1)}{25}\right)$ 步骤4:令 $a_n \geq 0$:$1 - \frac{2(n-1)}{25} \geq 0 \implies n \leq 13.5$ 步骤5:故 $n = 13$ 时 $a_{13} > 0$,$n = 14$ 时 $a_{14} < 0$,$S_{13}$ 最大。 **答案:** $n = 13$ **常见错误:** 当 $a_n = 0$ 时,$S_n = S_{n-1}$,两者都是最大值。本题中 $a_{13} > 0$,$a_{14} < 0$,故 $S_{13}$ 唯一最大。 ### 例题12:集合与逻辑的综合 **题目:** 已知命题 $p$:$\forall x \in [1, 2]$,$x^2 - a \geq 0$;命题 $q$:$\exists x \in \mathbb{R}$,$x^2 + 2ax + 2 - a = 0$。若 $p \land q$ 为真命题,求实数 $a$ 的取值范围。 **解答:** 步骤1:命题 $p$ 为真:$\forall x \in [1, 2]$,$a \leq x^2$。$x^2$ 在 $[1, 2]$ 上的最小值为 $1$,故 $a \leq 1$。 步骤2:命题 $q$ 为真:方程 $x^2 + 2ax + 2 - a = 0$ 有实数根,故 $\Delta \geq 0$。 步骤3:计算判别式:$\Delta = 4a^2 - 4(2 - a) = 4a^2 + 4a - 8 \geq 0$,即 $a^2 + a - 2 \geq 0$,$(a + 2)(a - 1) \geq 0$,得 $a \leq -2$ 或 $a \geq 1$。 步骤4:$p \land q$ 为真,则 $p$ 与 $q$ 同时为真,取交集: - $p$ 真:$a \leq 1$ - $q$ 真:$a \leq -2$ 或 $a \geq 1$ 步骤5:交集为 $a \leq -2$ 或 $a = 1$。 **答案:** $a \in (-\infty, -2] \cup \{1\}$ **考试技巧:** "$\forall$"型命题转化为最值问题,"$\exists$"型命题转化为判别式问题。注意逻辑联结词"且"对应交集,"或"对应并集。 ```mermaid flowchart TD A[Algebra] --> B[Key Concepts] A --> C[Core Principles] A --> D[Practical Applications] B --> E[Fundamental definitions] C --> F[Design patterns] D --> G[Real-world usage] ``` ## Intuition Algebra is like a balance scale. Whatever you do to one side, you must do to the other to keep it balanced. This is the fundamental principle behind solving equations: you are trying to isolate the variable on one side while keeping the scale balanced. Each operation you perform is like adding or removing weights from both sides. Functions are like machines in a factory. You put raw materials in (input), the machine processes them according to a specific recipe (the function rule), and成品 comes out (output). Understanding the machine's recipe lets you predict what will come out for any input, and working backward from the output tells you what input was needed. ## Cross-References - [Functions](../../../../../alevel/src/content/docs/maths/pure-mathematics/05-functions) - How algebraic manipulation underpins function analysis and equation solving - [Geometry](../../../../../sat/src/content/docs/mathematics/geometry) - Coordinate geometry that connects algebraic and geometric reasoning - [Chinese Reading](../chinese/reading) - Logical reasoning skills that support mathematical proof writing ## Common Mistakes **Forgetting to check the discriminant before solving quadratics.** When using the quadratic formula, always compute Delta = b^2 - 4ac first. If Delta < 0, there are no real roots, and continuing with the formula gives complex numbers that may not be expected. This is especially important when the problem asks for real solutions only. **Confusing the sum and product of roots.** Vieta's formulas state x1 + x2 = -b/a and x1 * x2 = c/a. Students often forget the negative sign in the sum formula or swap the two formulas. The sum is -b/a (note the negative), while the product is c/a (no negative sign). **Forgetting to verify the endpoint in set operations.** When solving inequalities involving sets, always check whether endpoints should be included (closed interval) or excluded (open interval). Forgetting to test boundary values can lead to incorrect answers, especially when the inequality is non-strict (<= or >=).
